My name is Greg Forchuk and I live in Devon AB. I want to extend a big thank you to Dr. Scharfenberger and her staff. On September 19 2024, Dr Scharfenberger performed surgery on my right ankle and foot. The surgery encompassed my Achilles tendon, all five toe tendons, and my posterior flexor tendon. In January 1984, I had an industrial accident that caused a severe spinal cord injury. I crushed my C5, C6, and C7 vertebrae and broke my right wrist, left arm, sternum, and six ribs. A skilled neurosurgeon used part of my hip bone to repair my neck. Although the surgeon was doubtful about my ability to walk, I began to regain feeling in January and completed physiotherapy by Easter. By October, ten months after the accident, I returned to work. I walked with a limp but managed to continue life despite mobility issues. My spinal injury mainly affected the right side of my body.
